Congrats to DME’s first Tijuana Flat’s Student-Athlete of the week, Heil Belabbes.  Heil is a member of DME Academy’s Post Grad Basketball program.  He is known by his teachers as a committed, contentious, hard working student.  Heil embodies the core values of DME Academy.  This is evident in his actions on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
This past weekend Heil supported our local Volusia County Boys and Girls Club by competing in a 5K event at LPGA.  In addition to his commitment to servant leadership, Heil even managed to win the 5K!
“Hiel is an awesome young man with high character. We are so proud to have him in our post grad program. He embodies the DME culture everyday in every way,” commented Coach Chris Pagentine, Heil’s post grad coach.
Week of October 11th
Salvatore Pedevillano is in his third year with DME Academy.  He is a senior at DME Academy where he is not only accomplished on the basketball court but in the classroom as well.  Sal, is a high academic student, and highly regarded by his teachers at DME Xceed.  Additionally, he is highly committed to growing his game and his opportunities beyond DME Academy when he graduates in May.  Every morning, bright and early, long before many other DME Academy athletes step into the gym, before practices start or classes commence for the day, Sal is investing time and energy to the growth of his game.
“The work is paying off.  The growth that Sal has experienced the past two years is immeasurable.  He has worked his way to our National Boy’s team through grit, commitment to excellence, and dedication.  He epitomizes the student-athletes we seek out at DME Academy and truly embodies the student-athlete package.”
Congrats to Heil Belabbes and Salvatore Pedevillano on being honored as DME Academy’s Tijuana Flats Student-Athlete of the Week.
