“Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do” – John Wooden. As a lifelong educator, Lynette Bowman has inspired students to achieve more than they thought possible, not just in the classroom but inspiring greater char- acter and leadership in their lives outside of the classroom. She further employed Wooden’s wisdom to inspire her teach- ers as a school administrator. Teaching in a Classical private school for 10 years, Lynette utilized the wisdom of the ancient thinkers, such as Aristotle, to the students through teaching Logic, Latin, and Mock Trial to middle and high school students. Finally, she spearheaded the capstone courses Rhetoric I, II, and Senior Thesis for her school. Throughout her teaching tenure, she utilized critical thinking and interdisciplinary learning styles to meet the needs of individual student’s learning styles.

As a school administrator, Lynette expounded upon parent-student communications by instituting and producing a weekly upper school newsletter and established a monthly forum for parents to meet face-to-face with administrators. Results oriented and visionary, her organizational ability and keen communication skills allowed her to present to other admin- istrators, parents, and students winsomely to change policy, course offerings, and looping to meet the changing requirements of educational demands for the students and families. She provided support, mentoring, and instructional encouragement to faculty as a teacher advo- cate in administration.

Looking to expand the scope of both traditional and classical education, Lynette has set her sights on creating a sports academy school to launch in the fall of 2017. DME Sports Academy selects the finest combination of athletes and academics. Forbes magazine recognizes the inherent value and worth of former athletes’ ability to focus, drive, and excel into leadership in the business world. She aims to serve as a catalyst to develop tomorrow’s leaders through a Sports Academy Education.
Through discipline, heart, character, servanthood, and excellence, DME Sports Academy will develop all areas of the student to launch into the business world. Lynette will create and develop a school second to none, balancing athletic training and excellence in educational pursuits. A graduate of DME Sports Academy will be prepared to excel both on and off the court/field. Excellence knows no boundary and DME Sports Academy will serve Daytona Beach, central Florida, the US, and recruit students from all over the world to launch into tomorrow’s leaders.
