DME Hosted the Christmas Classic including 12 High School Programs on December 19 – 21, 2019.

It was a great turnout with teams from all over the state of Florida as well
as some from out of state and was a great weekend of high level


In a tough loss to start the weekend, Charles Davis led DME Blue with 18
points vs Spring Creek Academy.
DME HS Blue then turned around and played a tough program in Boca
Raton losing a close game 45 – 38. DME’s 6’8 Israel Griffin showed his
toughness and potential all throughout the game.
With the final game of the tournament, DME faced a very good program
and team in Victory Rock National. 6’1 G Sebastian Kinney came out on
fire with his energy and crafty finishing he finished the game with a game-high 31 points.

DME HS White had a tough loss against West Lake to start the
Christmas Classic. However, they bounced back big time the next day
with a win over FBCA 56 – 24. Sean Yan had a great performance with 20
points in the game.
DME HS White fell short on the final day against East Ridge 50 – 39.

Daytona Field House will host the 2nd Annual Mauro Panaggio Basketball Tournament.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (December 4, 2018) – The 2nd Annual Mauro Panaggio basketball tournament will be held at the Daytona Field House, a DME Sports Venue, on December 16 & 17, 2018.

The Division III men’s tournament will feature quality competition with the following teams:Brockport State: from Rochester, NY and where Mauro coached for 9 years which including several championships.
Washington & Lee University: From Lexington, Virginia.

Gallaudet University: from Washington, D.C. a school for the deaf and hard of hearing.Nazareth College: from Rochester, NY and a top 30 ranked D3 program.

Mauro Panaggio was the father of Mike and Dan Panaggio, who are co-founders and owners of DME Sports Academy. Mauro, who passed away earlier this year, was a lifelong teacher and basketball coach, and who coached both his sons.

Mike has lived in the Daytona area for more than 30 years, and founded the original DME (Direct Mail Express) in 1984. Dan moved to the area just a few years ago after spending nearly a decade in the NBA coaching ranks.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL. July 31, 2017// – DME Sports Academy, an elite
sports training company, is hosting its first Invitational Super Session. Top athletes from
across the country and Europe will meet in Florida for next level training and competitive
games, August 5th – 6th, 2017.

The Super Session acts as a culminating event, of coast to coast basketball camps, activated by
Director of Camps, Nick Couluris. The former Director of Five Star Basketball, Couluris spent
seven years developing basketball camps in over 40 locations across six continents. It’s safe to
say, Couluris has a keen eye for talent and a propensity for building relationships.

“The type of athletes that will be invited our Invitational Super Session are hungry. They are
resilient, doing whatever it takes to fine tune their skills in their “pursuit of excellence,” which
is what we’re all about at DME Sports Academy. The Super Session will include the best of the
best,” said Couluris.

DME Sports Academy pulled talent and hosted skill development camps in the areas of Los
Angeles, Dallas, New York City Tri State Area, and Florida. An invitation has been extended to
the top performers at each camp. It is projected that regional top 100 talents will be in
attendance, alongside numerous projected Division I Athletes. In addition, the London, UK
Showcase Elite Basketball team, will also be participating in the Super Session.

On Saturday, August 5th, DME Sports Academy is inviting the press for a Media Day in the large
studio from 11:30am – 12:30pm. The time will serve as an opportunity for 120 potential high
school varsity athletes to talk one on one with top media influencers in basketball.

Next, from 12:30pm – 1:30 pm, coaches will sit down for a Chalk Talk with DME Sports
Academy’s CEO Lance Blanks. Blanks, a 1990 1st round draft pick for the Detroit Pistons,
Director of Scouting for the San Antonio Spurs, Assistant GM for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and
GM for the Phoenix Suns, will speak candidly about the changing dynamics of high school
sports as it pertains to recruiting for college basketball.
